Can English teachers review drafts before turning them in to the DTC for the purposes of effort scoring?
No. The Communication Tests are not being released this year, therefore all test information must remain secure.
Do word walls need to be covered?
IF your word wall contains any information that deals with content or process, it will need to be covered up. If it is just a list of words, you may leave it. If in doubt, cover it up!
It says in the manual that all underlining needs to be erased. Is that correct?
Underlining in the test or question does NOT need to be erased. However, some students have been taught to check their work by underlining the question parts and the corresponding parts of their answers. If any portion of the ANSWER choice is underlined, that needs to be erased.
Could there be a list serve of DTCs so that they receive the same information sent to the Superintendent?
This list serve is already in place. The names were derived from the core data provided by each district. If you are not receiving the e-mails and you are a DTC, you need to update your core data to ensure your name is on the list.
Field tests – Are these just sent or do materials need to be ordered?
These materials will be sent to you at the appropriate time. Districts provided enrollment numbers when notified of field test selection, so the appropriate number should be forwarded to you.
When will the large print or Braille materials be delivered?
These materials are not shipped from CTB/McGraw-Hill but should be sent shortly in a separate shipment.
If a teacher routinely plays music in the background when students study or take tests, can that music be played during MAP testing.
No, a standardized test should follow the manuals book and be administered the same throughout the state.
